How to post a job for free in India (2026)

Where you can post a job at no cost in India, what free job posting actually gets you, and how to publish a job on ofper in about ten minutes.

Last updated 29 August 2026. Competitor pricing and plan limits are re-verified against each vendor’s own pages.

You can post a job for free in India on several platforms, including ofper, LinkedIn, Google for Jobs via your own careers page, and the free tiers of some job boards.

Free job posting does not mean free candidate traffic. Most free tiers limit how many jobs you can keep open, how long a posting stays live, or how many applications you can see.

ofper lets you publish unlimited jobs for free on a public company page, with structured data that makes each job eligible to appear in Google for Jobs.

Where can you post a job for free in India?

The realistic free options fall into three groups, and they do different jobs.

  • Your own careers page. A job page on your own domain with correct JobPosting structured data is eligible for Google for Jobs, which is where a large share of Indian job search now starts. This is the highest-leverage free option and the one most small companies skip.
  • Professional networks. LinkedIn allows a free job posting, though reach is throttled compared with promoted listings.
  • Job board free tiers. Most Indian job boards offer a limited free posting, usually capped by number of listings, days live, or visible applications. Check the cap before you rely on it.
  • ofper. Unlimited free job postings on a public company page, with a full applicant tracking system behind them.

What does free job posting actually get you?

It is worth separating two things that often get conflated: publishing a job, and getting candidates to see it.

Publishing is genuinely free almost everywhere. Distribution is what costs money. A free posting on a large job board is usually ranked below paid listings, and a free posting on a new platform reaches whoever already visits that platform.

Being honest about ofper here: the ofper marketplace is new, so it does not yet send you the candidate volume an established Indian job board does. What ofper gives you for free is a correctly built public job page that search engines can index, and a real applicant tracking system to handle whoever applies. If your hiring depends on job board traffic today, use ofper alongside a board rather than instead of one.

How do you post a job on ofper?

Publishing a job publicly takes two things: a workspace, and a verified domain. Both are free.

  • Sign in with your work email. ofper sends a one-time code, so there is no password to set.
  • Create your company workspace and choose your public address, which becomes ofper.com/c/your-company.
  • Verify your company. With your own domain this is automated and instant: a DNS TXT record or an email code. Without a domain (for example a business on Gmail), submit registration documents for manual review within 2 business days. Both routes are free.
  • Create the job: title, description, location, employment type, salary range and up to five screening questions.
  • Publish. The job gets a reference number, appears on your public company page, and carries JobPosting structured data.

Why does domain verification matter?

Verification is what separates a public listing from a private one on ofper, and it exists because a job marketplace that anyone can post to without proving who they are fills up with scams.

Verifying proves your company controls its own domain. It unlocks your public company page, candidate self-apply, screening questions, interview scheduling and recruiting email through your own mailbox. It costs nothing.

Questions, answered straight

Can I post a job for free in India?

Yes. ofper allows unlimited free job postings on a public company page once your company domain is verified, and verification is also free. LinkedIn and several Indian job boards offer limited free postings as well.

How many jobs can I post for free on ofper?

There is no limit. ofper does not cap the number of jobs, candidates or team members on the free plan.

Will my job show up on Google?

Published ofper jobs carry JobPosting structured data and are listed in the sitemap, which makes them eligible to appear in Google for Jobs. Eligibility is not a guarantee: Google decides what to index and show.

Do I need to verify my domain to post a job?

You can create and track jobs without verifying. Publishing a job publicly, letting candidates apply directly and sending recruiting email all require domain verification, which is automated and free.
