ofper sends all recruiting email from the company's own mailbox, connected over SMTP: Gmail or Google Workspace with an App Password, Microsoft 365 with authenticated SMTP enabled, or any mail server.

Candidates see a real address, replies land in the recruiter's inbox, and the company's own sender reputation carries the mail; ofper never sends on the company's behalf from a noreply address.

There is no one-click Google or Microsoft sign-in for the mailbox; the connection is SMTP with a password stored encrypted.

Which mailboxes work?

Setup is in the company mailbox settings: host, port, username, password, and an optional From name and address. A test email confirms the connection before anything is sent to a candidate. Credentials are envelope-encrypted before they are stored.

What is sent, and from which templates

Seven kinds of email go out through the mailbox: interview invitation, interview confirmed, interview cancelled, interview reminder, rejection, knockout rejection and offer letter. Each has a template the company can edit, with placeholders for the candidate's name, the job title and the company name. Every other message a recruiter writes to a candidate is sent from their own email client as usual, because the candidate's address is right there.

Why your mailbox and not ofper's

Two reasons. Candidates reply to interview invitations, and the reply should reach a person, not a platform inbox. And email sent from a shared platform address is filtered on the platform's reputation, which the company does not control; email from acme.com is filtered on acme.com's. It is also what keeps ofper free: the platform pays for no recruiting mail at all.

What own-mailbox email does not do

No OAuth sign-in for Gmail or Microsoft; SMTP only
No sending before the company is verified and a mailbox is connected
No bulk campaigns or drip sequences to candidates
No shared inbox inside ofper; replies arrive in your mail client

Will my Gmail get blocked for sending recruiting email?

Recruiting volume for a small company is far below Gmail's sending limits. ofper sends one email per event, not campaigns, and rate-limits automated mail per company.

Can each recruiter use their own address?

One mailbox is connected per company, and its From address is what candidates see. Recruiters reply and write ad-hoc messages from their own clients.

What does ofper send from its own address?

Only sign-in one-time codes, team invitations and account-deletion confirmations. Never candidate-facing recruiting email.
