Interview scheduling software built in: candidates pick a slot from your availability, free

Set weekly availability and blackout dates, send a candidate a link, and they choose a slot. Confirmations, calendar invites and reminders go out from your own mailbox. What is included, the limits, and what is not: no calendar sync.

ofper includes interview scheduling: a company sets weekly availability windows, and each candidate receives a personal link where they pick a slot, reschedule or cancel without an account.

Confirmations, .ics calendar invites and reminders are sent from the company's own mailbox, and the interview is recorded against the candidate and its round on the pipeline.

There is no two-way sync with Google Calendar or Outlook; availability is set in ofper, and the .ics invite is how the interview reaches a calendar.

How scheduling works

  • Set availability once: weekly windows per weekday, blackout dates, slot length (30 minutes by default), how many interviews can share a slot, minimum notice (24 hours by default) and how far ahead candidates can book (14 days by default, up to 60)
  • From a candidate's card, send an interview invitation for a round; the email carries a personal link that expires after 7 days by default
  • The candidate opens the link, sees open slots in your timezone, and books one; two candidates cannot take the same slot
  • Confirmation and a calendar invite go to both sides; a reminder goes out 24 hours before
  • The candidate can reschedule or cancel from the same link until 12 hours before the interview, by default

Is there a free interview scheduling tool for recruiting?

Yes: this one, for companies that hire with ofper. It is not a standalone scheduling product and cannot be used for meetings that are not interviews, but for hiring it removes the back-and-forth entirely and costs nothing. Companies that already use a booking tool can instead give ofper its link, and the invitation email will carry that link rather than ofper's booking page.

Calendar invites

Every confirmation carries a standard .ics file, so the interview lands in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar when the recipient opens it. Reschedules update the same event instead of creating a duplicate, and cancellations remove it. Invites are attached when the company mailbox is connected over SMTP.

What scheduling does not do

  • No two-way calendar sync: ofper does not read your Google or Outlook calendar for conflicts
  • No video meeting creation: you set a meeting link or an address, ofper sends it
  • No panel scheduling across several interviewers' calendars; availability is per company
  • No scheduling before the company has verified its domain and connected a mailbox, because invitations are email

Questions, answered straight

Does the candidate need an account to book?

No. The link in the invitation email is enough; it is personal to that candidate and interview and expires after the period you set, between 1 and 30 days.

Which timezone are slots shown in?

The company's timezone, which defaults to Asia/Kolkata and can be changed in scheduling settings. The .ics invite carries the time correctly for whatever calendar it lands in.

Can I use Calendly instead?

Yes. Set the job's scheduling to external and paste your booking link; ofper will send it in the invitation instead of its own booking page.

What if two candidates book the same slot at the same moment?

Only one succeeds. Bookings are serialised per slot in the database, and the second candidate is shown the remaining slots.
